Description |
Low noise HF preamp tube.
Descibed in Mullard literature of 1938 as an RF pentode. The additional grid introduces a beam formation into the electron stream so that the electrons can pass between the wires of the screen grid without striking them. This reduces the screen current and imprves the S/N ratio.
