Description |
The "Emitron" Camera Tube was patented by a team under Shoenberg in 1932 and developed developed further by EMI coming into production for broadcast use in 1936.
Note that "Emitron" is also a brand and trade name and does not really relate to a specific tube. The name , however, was adopted by the Shoenberg team and widely used to describe both the tube itself and the camera employed mainly by the BBC in the 1936 to 1939 period.
