Description |
This tube is the first based ER type and was introduced in the middle of 1920. The anode was aluminium, and this was held in place by two extensions which went down to the press, (fitting the press like a "splint" to give support. Later tubes have a nickel anode half the height. The grid was of spiral copper wire. The base was made by the Shaw Insulator Company which was associated with Moorhead Laboratories. This was a soft tube.
