Description

This tube was designed for Vapour Cooling rather than normal water cooling.

The tube is fitted in a closed loop system where the anode is the heater in a water boiler. The steam created is then condensed and returned to the boiler. The external surface of the anode reaches temperatures above the boiling point unlike that in a water cooled system where boiling is prevented.

Suitably engineered, this can result in a compact system but requires regular checks on water level and quality which must provide good insulation and low contamination - small traces of oil can greatly reduce efficiency due to anode surface effects. Contamination builds up in the water as the volume is much lower than in a normal water-cooled scheme.

Va<8kV; Pa <5kW. f<40MHz
