Description |
This tube is a negative control mercury-vapor thyratron for use where it is desired to actuate the tube with a change in negative grid voltage. It requires relatively little grid power and is suitable for use in relay circuits where current flow is desired in the absence of grid excitation. It is listed on page 48 of "The Story of Electronic Development at the General Electric Company" Dated Dec 10th, 1930. Early versions of the GE tube had a nickel plated UX base with porcelain insulation. Later tubes (1945) have Bakelite bases. Also made in Italy by Fivre.
