Description |
This tube was made in the USA but no confirmation of the manufacturerhas been found. It has a unique B22 base which has a groove in the base shell adjacent to the locking pins. It is assumed that this "ring" was used to stop the glass base from falling out. An example of the tube was in the legendary Eaton collection. and known as No 2. It is shown in the original article of GFJ Tyne on page 32 of the Radio News article, July 1943 and in Tyne's book, "Saga of the Vacuum Tube, p. 47. At least one is known to be in a private collection.
