Description |
Designed by Quirino Majorana and produced since 1917 by the lamp manufacturer Giuseppe Longoni in Novi Ligure, near Genova. The firm was then bought by Marconi. The soft triode 'Gorizia' was widely used by Italian Army during the 1915-1918 war in telephonic intercept equipment. Majorana described his modifications on the de Forest Audion already in 1912. He obtained a German patent on this arrangement of combe-shaped grid (first use of a co-planar grid).
