Description |
HB-106 was the early Haydu/Burroughs numerical indicator, proposed as companion of 6700 beam switching tube. The 1" character height, 0 to 9 digits, flat top view.
In Electronics, December 1955, this tube was advertised as produced by 'Haydu Brothers of New Jersey', subsidiary of Burroughs Corporation. The prefix itself, H-B, looks to be the acronym of Haydu Brothers.
HB-106 was registered as 6844. The name 'Nixie' for 6844/HB-106 was first advertised as Haydu in Electronics, December 1955, page 123.
