Descripción |
This tube is a cold cathode triode invented by Dr August Hund of the laboratories of the Wired Radio Co of New York. The element consisted of an open ended corrugated metal anode mounted horizontally and surrounding other elements. It was claimed to be a "filamentless" triode and was able to do everything a three electrode tube could do - amplify, rectify and oscillate. Tests of the tube as a transmitter showed that the tube could be worked on short wave even below one meter. No patents have been found and apparently the tube was never available commercially. This tube adopted the standard "S14" size bulb.
