- 16-bit program counter
- 8-bit bidirectional data bus
- 12-bit address bus
- Three additional 16-bit internal registers
- Internal clock generator, up to 4 MHz
- Two inputs usable as interrupt lines, three flag lines usable as outputs
- Serial input/output
- Three-state control of the esternal buses with multiprocessing capability
- DIP-40 package
National Semiconductor offered a Low-Cost Development System, LCDS, with hexadecimal keyboard and 7-segment display. Also available a cross-assembler running on the UDS development system.
