Description |
The MO-10 is the first beam switching tube made in series. It is a high speed, nixie-compatible alternative to the Dekatron (of Sylvania, e.g. 6910), called Trochotron. The counting speed is 2 MHz. Magnetic beam switching tubes are exotic hard vacuum decimal counting devices used in high speed applications through the 1950's and 1960's. The magnetic beam switching tubes (and the Nixie tubes!) were introduced by Haydu Brothers in progress to be fully owned by Burroughs. MO-10 was regisered as 6700.
Operating principle of trochotron.
