[INCORRECT LISTING This info for Tube Admin, but there is no admin shown for this tube] N369 is a single beam tetrode and so N369 should be removed from the TITLE of this page as it is incorrect for the data shown. The data is closer to PCL82 and 16A9, which are triode-pentodes as indicated in the diagram, so the article could be good for these titles. (The confusion may have arisen as PCL82 is an equivalent for Mazda 30PL12... ...whereas N369 is an equivalent for 30P12 - without the letter L) Please add some U-points for my membership if this information is helpful. THANK YOU. Dave. |

According to Brands the N369 from GEC is identical to PCL82. The 30P12 from Ediswan is a tetrode and the 30PL12 is unknown in 1961. According to te AVO Valve Data Manual, 20th edition from 1974, David Phillips should be right. However there are many mistakes in this AVO Data Manual, these mistakes come clear when you try to test a valve, so mayby there is a co/member who can test the valve and let us share his findings. Moreover it is possible that different manufacturers have used the N369 code for different valves.

To be more precise, the designation N369 was definitely used for a single beam tetrode by Marconi (Marconiphone CO. Ltd). See the attached example picture using link at the bottom of this page. See also the cross-reference here. (Mazda tube this time, but N369 shown as equivalent single tetrode) Also agreed, as Jan Terranea rightly says, there can be several different tubes with the same number. As we say in UK, "one swallow does not make a summer". Hopefully with these notes, someone will benefit: there is possibility for confusion with N369. Best Regards, Dave Attachments |

Dear David, dear Jan, many thanks for your notes on this tube. The picture sent by David clearly shows the double marking N369/PL801 and the latest code identifies a power pentode. For this reason I changed the type from 'triode-pentode' to 'beam power' and removed the existing base. I also added a link to the Mazda 30P12 but the exact equivalence is not known at the moment. Maybe that somebody knows more on these proprietary families. Regards, Emilio |
