Description |
This is a 115-125 volt neon light bulb. It is one of a series of such bulbs (type numbers range from NE1 to NE56, but not all numbers were used). Its main use was mainly for current indicators and in radio, for the same purpose. It consumes 2 - 3 watts and has a "ring" shaped resistor for the A/C current in the base. These bulbs were made at the Cleveland, Ohio lamp factory of General Electric and were first introduced in the mid 1930's. They were still being made at least into the 1980's. Also made by the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co.
