I have recently added a new television receiver to my collection.

It is a Mivar (Radio Var Milano, Italy) model TV612/19, that employs the tube PC97.

As reported in tube informations in Radiomuseum, this tube was first marketed in March 1962.

This TV was manufactured in December 1961, as stamped by manufacturer for warranty reasons, on the chassis and on the tubes, a Mivar distinctive feature.

As you can see on the attached photo this tube is clearly marked with the stamp "MiVar - RadioTV - 12 - 61", and the same is for most of the 22 tubes of this TV, obviously except for those replaced due to servicing. The Philips marking is still quite good and clear, tube was manufactured in Great Britain.

I think these data can be considered reliable, indicating that this tube was first marketed, and delivered, to manufacturers at least in the second part of 1961, in time for 1962 season.

Thank you very much for this useful information. I have registered Oct.1961 as second source of introduction.

Best Regards,
