Description |
Pliotron is the brand of Pilot Electric Mfg. Co., Brooklyn, NY which is in 1929 "Pilot Radio & Tube Corp." in Brooklyn. They made for instance the tubes P227, P245, P280 etc. On page 7 of "Radio Design" David Grimes writes why for the "A.C. Super Wasp" has to be used the P227 instead of an ordinary 227. He shows the heater of a normal 227 and the bifilar heater for the P227 - which can make clear differences for RF with otherwise the same data. We name the Pilotron 227 as P227_USA because of the same name P227 of an other tube.
