Description |
Early cavity magnetron, similar to UK3108, 315B, E1189, W2510, NT98.
This should be one of the first Canadian magetrons entered in production, directly derived from the British E1189 prototype, brought to U.S. and Canada by the Tizard Mission in 1940. The REL-3C is the Canadian equivalent of the frequency variant E1198, also known as CV38. Being unstrapped, typically it gave output pulses of about 10 kW, 5 kW minimum, at 1050 gauss.
Production run by Canadian Northern Electric Co. for Research Enterprises Ltd.
