Description |
Early strapped 3 GHz cavity magnetron, copy of the British CV56. Probably made from the late 1941 by Northern Electric for REL. Almost certainly used in the ship-borne 268 (3X/C) radar, built from the end of 1943 to the end of war. A contract of 1.000 radar sets plus 1.500 sets of spare parts was placed by British Admiralty around the mid 1943.
80 to 100 kW pulses at 3GHz.
