Beschreibung

Deforest designed Audions for use as oscillators, giving them the name Oscillions. This early version used an edison screw base, and was used in an oscillator called the Type "S".

This tube was soon fitted with a standard Shaw UV base. Also a rectifier was made.

They were given the name "Singer" because they were used for audio frequency oscillations, or "singing".
