Description This is a Thermiode, a glass tube in a shielding of nickel-iron alloy to prevent electric or magnetic interference. Internal resistance 1000 ohms. DDS = Diode Detector Schaaper. E. Schaaper made licence free radio schematics and sold radio parts of his own brand. When diode detection became a topic in the early 1930's, Thermion made the T-DDS for him.
