Description |
The Tigerman Detecto-Amplifier tube was made by the National Electric Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois and was advertised in 1916. According to Tynes book "Saga of the Vacuum Tube" pages 181 & 182, the tube was double ended with two sets of filament-anode electrodes, one at each end. The control electrodes were applied on the outside of rthe glass tube and were simple metallic bands clamped around the outside of the tube. The tube was about 5 inches long and had a candleabra (E12) base on each end. In effect, it was two Weagant tubes in one bulb.
