Description |
Almost certainly TS6 was one of the biggest doorknob-style UHF triode ever made. It was designed during WWII by German GEMA for the marine radar Seetakt operating around 400 MHz. Also used in some Freya sets. It replaced TS1 and TS1A which were similar to WE 316A. Rugged electrode structure to withstand extreme shocks and vibrations due to heavy gun firing aboard of battleships. Filamentary thoriated-tungsten cathode formed by eight wires in parallel for higher emission.
- 150 W anode power dissipation
- 700 V / 700 mA max anode ratings
- Gm 12
- 2 V at 31 A filament. The exact current value was etched on the glass bulb
Two tubes generated 8 to 15 kW peak pulses.
Also made in Italy by Fivre, as replacement for the Freya sets bought from Germany during the war.
