Description In the early days of UHF color television in US, while GE and other firms worked around minimagnetron devices, Zenith designed a family of compact TWTs in miniature glass envelopes. Capable of operation as wide band amplifiers from 100 to 1000MHz, a gain in the order of 8 to 10dB could be expected.
Probably the development was stopped, as for the GE minimagnetrons, due to the shortage of nichel required to produce Alnico magnets required for operation.
