Description |
This Ultraudion made by the de Forest company at High Bridge in The Bronx in New York has a G16 &1/2 inch diameter spherical bulb and is fitted with an E12 candelabra screw base. It has a paper label stating that it is an Ultraudion. It is not mentioned in Tyne's "saga of the vacuum Tube" but several samples exist. Tyne states on page 119 and 120 of his book that the name Ultraudion "simply meant that the tube could produce oscillations when used in a circuit which de Forest called the "Ultraudion circuit". It was made for the de Forest UJ2 Detector Unit
