Description |
According to Tyne on page 318, extensive experimental work was done at GE during 1924 and 1925 and in July 1926 samples were submitted to RCA, which assigned the type UX222 in November 1926. Production was started at Nela Park and the UX222 was announced by RCA in October 1927. The thoriated filament takes 0.132 amperes at 3.3 volts. The maximum recommended anode voltage is 135 volts and with +45 volts on the screen grid and -1.5 volts on the inner grid, it is resulting a 1.5 milliampere anode current. The amplification factor is then 300 and the mutual conductance 350 micromhos.
