Description |
Spark gap switch to be used as TR switch. This is the first sealed device designed by N.L. Harris of GEC. Tungsten tipped electrodes, covered by glass over their length to limit the zone of discharge. 0.4 mm distance. The device was filled with argon and a small amount of mercury. 100 us recovery time. Several hundred hours useful life at 25KW. Approved as CV86 in April 1941.
