Description

This tube is a 50 Watt "Pliotron" transmitting type made for the US Army by GE in 1918. Original tubes had a large base (Jumbo 4 pin) which was made for GE by the Shaw Insulator Company. In the early part of 1919 the base was made by GE and had a mica insulator disc to support the base pins. The tube is mentioned on page 38 of "The Story of Electronics Development at the General Electric company".
