Description |
Helix TWT power amplifier, manufactured by Communications and Power Industries, USA, formerly part of Varian - microwave division.
Cooling takes place from the collector to the aluminum body, through a copper heat coupler, and then through its base surface to a suitable radiator. Beam is focused by means of many and many small permanent magnets, individually placed along the helix.
Output power: 2250W from 5,85 to 6,425 MHz with a gain of 40.
Cathode: 15KV @ 847mA; Collector 1: 9.75KV @ 46.2mA; Collector 2: 5.25KV @ 799mA; Helix current: 1.8mA
This TWT was in use in a satellite communication relay station.
