Description |
The all-metal VX302 was developed in secret in 1943 at the Clarendon Laboratory and the prototypes manufactured by Marconi. This was the first of the k-band (30 GHz)reflex klystrons.
Up to 20mW of power was developed at a wavelength of 1.25 cm with a 2kV supply and 8 mA anode current.
The mechanical tuning mechanism is complex in this design and is similar to that in the VX5015.
