No info available on this experimental tube. The same name has been derived from a label still glued on the other known sample in the collection of Giorgio Basile at the site ‘Lamps & Tubes’.
The tube looks to be a half-wave rectifier in a large glass bulb similar to that of 833A transmitting triode. The electrode structure appears to be a fantastic work of art. Anode is formed by an inner large cylinder surrounded by fourteen smaller cylinders, whose diameter measures about 1 cm. Twelve oxide coated filaments are stretched inside as many cylinders, the remaing two cylinders being used to secure the assembly to the two top connecting rods. The entire assembly looks to be capable of handling very high currents, resulting from the parallel connection of twelve diodes. Heat could be dissipated both by radiation, through the wide surface of the carbonized anode assembly, and by conduction, through the two bottom connecting rods.
