Description

Work started on an improvement on the UV201A tube by Westinghouse in Bloomfield, New Jersey, in 1923, for a tube to supply greater loud speaker power. The result was the WL-112. Early versions of the tube had a 54 mm diameter bulb and a ceramic insulator at the top of the element assembly to hold the anode, grid an ffilament supports in place. The filament was "M" shapd and was suspended on two spring hooks. Later versions of this tube had tubular bulbs and the final product was the UX112, whichwas developed late in 1925.
