Description 8 vanes interdigital CW tunable magnetron, designed for use as local oscillator in UHF-TV receivers. External magnet required. The magnetron was characterized as oscillator from about 700Hz to 1000MHz, operating in a negative-conductance mode up to about 100MHz and in a travelling-wave mode for higher frequencies.
The tube was described in an article in Electronics, Jan. 1952. Only samples were built. Shortages of cobalt and nickel, required for the magnet, imposed a cancellation of any production plan.
