A question esp. to our American friends: Why did EIMAC use this very unusual construction for this transmitting tube?

Dear Götz,
my guess is that a modular electrode structure was selected to grant a flexible and more efficient production in the wartime. This choice also simplified the inventory of components that Eimac had to handle, making or buying them from outside. It looks a good idea, even because the frequency limits were more or less the same of the baby 75TL, just the power was greater.

many thanks for your thoughts about the 304TL. Indeed it looks like Eimac just mated four 75TLs in one bulb to create a new powerful tube.
