amrad: G3; Dual Crystal Detector

I am fairly sure this Amrad crystal detector is a fraud other than the tag. The Amrad part number Type G-3 was the 1/4 KW Quenched Gap. I would guess this tag was taken removed from one of these Quenched gaps.

why could Amrad bore so nice holes but was unable to make a neat groove for the wiring?

I am suspicious... This is by no means an original.
