There are 3 models associated with the 146 and 146-1 chassis that are not identified in the Crosley documentation. The models are as follows:
Model | Model Type | Chassis | Speakers | Notes |
146 "Announcer" | Console | 146 | Qty(1) | According to the Crosley documentation, the "Announcer" model name is associated only with chassis 124-1 and 126-1. It is not known if this model was originally built this way by Crosley or if the original "Announcer" chassis was exchanged with a 146 chassis at some point later in time. |
146-1 "Legislator" | Console | 146-1 | Qty(2) | This model is pictured in the book by Mark Stein: Pre-War Consoles. The Crosley documentation does not list a model called "Legislator". |
146 "Tombstone" | Table Top | 146 | Qty(1) | The chassis in this model is labelled 146-1, however the chassis is actually a 146 chassis, since there is only 1 filter choke and a 4 wire speaker cable to support just 1 speaker. The chassis is also factory ink stamped "SENATOR", which is a known console model supported by the Crosley documentation (But using a 146 chassis!!) It is not known if this model was originally built this way by Crosley or if the chassis was placed into this cabinet at some later date. |
