? gemeinsch: ISOPHON VL34 and VE301
I own an ISOPHON VL34 speaker. I noticed that the German text mentions VE301. I also own a VE301 Dyn. I was curious if the VL34 speaker was intended as a remote speaker for use with the VE301? My VE301 Dyn of course has a built in speaker, and I see no connections for an external speaker. My VL34 speaker is missing its cable and connectors also. Just curious. Thank you.

VL34 Volkslautsprecher but not for Volksempfänger
Hello Dave.
The loudspeaker VL34 mentions itself standart loudspeakers, but not for the Volksempfaenger 301W and other ones.
The VL34 belongs to a row from standardized patterns of loudspeakers.

In this way should low and homogeneous prices of the economic place „WIRUFA" the government being dictated to the compartment trade and the manufacturers.
No source is known to me, by which is said the VL34 is for or also for the Volksempfanger.
Nevertheless show your source here.

Volkslautsprecher
The "Volkslautsprecher" chassis is in its mechanical dimensions equivalent to the speaker in the VE301 "Volksempfänger". However, it has a different coil.
- The VE301 speaker only has an 2000Ω coil
- The VL34 speaker has taps for 2000Ω, 1750Ω, and 1250Ω
In the early 1930 years there were still various sets without built in speaker in the homes in Germany. So the VL34 was not only a possible choise for "bigger" sets with connections for a remote speaker, but also a good value alternative for those vintage sets without any internal speaker.
Regards,
Dietmar
