It should be mentioned that the cassette format for these first-generation cassette recorders by Grundig was not the same as the familiar Philips cassette which quickly became dominant in the market. The Grundig cassettes were about the same size and looked almost identical to the Philips, and ran at the slightly higher speed of 2 ips compared to Philips' 1 7/8.
