Can the HVS-1 module be attached to my model 5490ST/U and function also with the Stereo-Decoder 5U? On the front panel, is the small selector lever which is located by the ECHO position??

Robert

HVS

Thank you so much. I did not know if the reverberation effect would NOT be so good if used while FM band is engaged - or does the effect only function while in PU (tonearm TA) or TR (tape player TB) modes.
I will look more closely at my schematic to evaluate/confirm circuitry!
In a Grundig Technische Informationen sheet I see block diagram with NF1, and HV1, with HS1 but I do not see Stereo-Decoder 5. I should be looking at different information??
Mfg,
Robert

ECHO on FM?

Hello Robert,
Ind.1 Oh I see, your questions first was: is the HVS1 in action on FM -Stereo?
Ind. 2 Next, is this good or use full to do this?
Ind.1 yes they is busy also on FM- Stereo.
See here and attachment.
green lefthand cannel, red righthand cannel
ECHO is: left AND right (Mono) after HSV1 is mixed to left- and right-hand cannel.
ECHO are not recordet to Tape
Ind.2 For example, you make an recording from a FM Broadcasting. If you play this, it is your decision to use ECHO or not. The same is, when you listen at the same time to this Broadcasting . ECHO yes or no?
O.K. ? Recommended from me is, use a low Value of ECHO! Maybe you have the indention from HOFBRAEUHAUS.
I think this is all for the moment.
Best Regards Hans

Too Much Time at Hofbrauhaus!!

Your wisdom extends far beyond the radio world. . . .As Flying Lieutenant, I was too many nights at the Music Halls and Liquid Refreshment centers near Frankfurt or Ramstein. To this date, I am unable to resist the Wienstephaner.
I understand now that the ECHO is active at all times it is connected, and control is from "minimum delay" to "maximum delay"?
The HSV1 is not so common, but I wished to confirm its applicability before I buy and install one. . . . they are not so common, I believe.

Robert
