I have a Grammont radio+phonograph.  It is almost identical in appearance to the Grammont Super 2030 shown in RM, except that it is taller and has a door and pull-out shelf with a 78 RPM phonograph on the bottom.  The circuit for my radio is that shown in RM for the schematic for Grammont model 2837, except that mine has an additional bandswitch position for the phonograph (PU) .  My radio does not have a back cover and thus the model number is unknown.  I assume it dates from circa 1933, like the Super 2030.

Both the radio and phono are capable of operation on 120-240 volts and 50-60 hertz.  I did restore my radio and it works very well indeed.

Thanks

hello david, have you got a picture of your phono that you could send to us , so we could examine it

ideally you could up load it to the model page and from there someone with knowledge of the set could add on , in that way it would remain in the data base , regards maitiu,

I have submitted the radio to the models page.  I did not do that originally since the model is not known!  I have uploaded some photos.

Dear Dave
Thank you for showing the pictures. In that period Grammont has made several different radios in similar style with and wothout player. With my sources I could not find your model. You have the best chance if you load up the model as a new model called "unkonwn" for Grammont. I also believe it is from 1932 or 1933. Just put 1933 with one question mark only.

After acception you please load up your pictures and ask somebody to move your thread to the model. Please then delete your attachments since they are then seen directly on the model page. You surely can put in quite a lot of parameters like tubes, waves, loudspeaker type, measurements etc.

I could not find a schematic for Grammont 2837 on our pages ... (?) - see your post 1.

If you have one, can you please load up to the model?

Sorry, the schematic is shown under Grammont 2803.

I have submitted the model information I have under model UNKNOWN.  I did include tubes, bands, circuit, dimensions, etc.

The model Grammont UNKNOWN has been loaded, and photos resubmitted and attached at the correct size, etc.

Dear Dave
I'm fascinated how fast your learning process is. You entered RMorg 6 days ago as a member and you have already created a good model and uploaded well done pictures. I also like the technical restoration.

I hope you get an answer to this difficult question of the model number which can only give somebody who has this very rare set with an intact back panel - and is willing to help ...

Two things I would like to tell you:

1
If you go to Post 3 and click "Edit" then you will get our WYSIWYG-editor. Then you scroll down and click "Attachments". You will see your files with a red cross. Please click these crosses to delete the attachments - for saving disk space - since your photos are now on the model.

2
Now one can see quite some details. I'm not quite sure if your photo "Top of chassis, after restoration" corresponds with the photo "Back of cabinet, prior to restoration, tube shields removed".

Please look at the left corner where you find a tube, followed by two cans for (IF-?) coils when looking at "prior to restoration" compared with a can, tube , can, tube-situation on the picture "after restoration". Hopefully you have not changed that chassis - and even then: The holder of the scale seems to me quite different on the two chassis (see for instance distance to the transformer) etc.

Can you please tell us if my eyes have grown too old or if there was a mistake. You might have to tell the picture admin to remove one of them and to place an other one? No real problem, but we have to work here very carefully to not publish wrong information.

Good catch - yes, I did upload an incorrect photo.

How do I contact the picture administrator?  I did not see that choice on the contact form.

I did delete the photos in the thread.
