loewe-opta: Line Choke question

Hello All:

The power cord on this radio comes into 2 line chokes, L21 and L22, which are mounted on top of the PT.  What function do these chokes provide?  Thanks.

Those chokes are there to isolate the radio from RF interference on the mains (and of course in the reverse way too, to isolate the mains from interference generated within the radio like IF harmonics).
