The date on this model is shown as 1959 ?. My family bought a new one of these models in 1957. The one they purchased had 7-pin miniature tubes. 1U4, 1R5, 1T4 or 1U4, 1U5 and 3V4. So, I'm suggesting to list the Year as 1956 or 1957.

While there is always some doubt about the years derived from SAMS (which is the case here), mostly they published their schematics within a range of one year - that's why we usually take the Photofact year of issue with an uncertainty of ± 1 year.

The tube line-up here seems to be a remnant of when the model was still listed in 1938 (please see the model history page). This information was probably not taken out of thin air - rather it is likely that an earlier model with this model number existed.

In 2009 information from SAMS was added and the year changed, but the tube complement was left untouched.

We might have to create a new model for the version with 1U5 etc. but this needs some investigation.

Many thanks for the reply. I'm hoping to acquire a model P57 and plan on restoring it and will provide photos inside and out and any other information I can find to share with Radiomuseum.

Jean: we created a new model based on SAMS, with the year 1957 +1. You're welcome to make additional changes, such as physical dimensions and weight etc, once you get hold of one of these radios.

This thread has been moved to the new model page.

Thanks, Mark.
