The BC-614 is a part of SCR-399, a high power vehicular radio station, telephony and telegraphy, for long range communication. It is connected to the transmitter BC-610 and to a control or junction box.
The SCR-399 was already in service during WW-2, but the -F variant is post-war. A receiver BC-312 and a BC-342 were also part of this radio-station.
This -F variant of the BC-614 is the only variant without tube nr. 8, the sidetone-buffer triode 6J5 or VT94.
