military: BC-620/659 transceiver use
The U.S. Army BC-620 transceiver, covering two crystal controlled channels out of 80 in the 20 - 27 MHz range, output power 1 watt, is used in several configurations:
SCR-509: Manpack set, BC-620 transceiver, uses batteries BA-39, BA-40, BA-41, 8 ft telescopic whip antenna. TM 11-605.
SCR-510: Vehicular set, BC-620 transceiver, PE-97 power unit, PE-120 vibrapack, AN-45 antenna, can be operated from 6 V or 12 V car battery. TM 11-605.
The very similar U.S. Army BC-659 transceiver, covering two crystal controlled channels out of 120 in the 27 - 39 MHz range (field artillery), output power 1 watt, is also used in several configurations:
SCR-609: Manpack set, BC-659 transceiver, uses batteries BA-39, BA-40, BA-41, 13 ft telescopic whip or emergency 27 ft wire antenna. TM 11-615.
SCR-610: Vehicular set, BC-659 transceiver and vibrapack PE-117, can be operated from 6 V or 12 V car battery. TM 11-615.
Refurbished surplus sets have also been used by:
Swiss Army as REX or SE-201/m (SCR-610 with BC-659)
French Army: BC-620
