Music King Radio
? Music King Radio
Hello,
I have a very nice small radio from somewhere between 1934 & 1937. The plate says: Music King. It's 110volt - 4 tube - wooden cabinet BC and SW ( I think) It's about: 10inX8.5inX6.5in. I have never found any record of such a company. It says it was manufactured in Chicago, USA. Tubes are 6C6 - 25Z5 - 48 - ? (the one in the shield has no ID) The radio does not work, and I'd like to find a schematic. Does anyone recognise the radio or manufacture ?
Thank, Rich...

Music King
It shows some similarity with an Aetna by Walgreen (Chicago). For repair purpose the schematic might help a little.
Anyway the 48 must be a 43.
Even having the same base connections the 48 would not match 25Z5 and 6D6 simply by its higher filament current in the series arrangement (0.4 amp vs. 0.3 amp).
The tube lineup is most probably 6D6 6C6 43 25Z5, as was widely employed those days for such simple screen grid TRFs without reaction.

Thanks !
Konrad,
I think you've got it there! I've looked for weeks with no luck.. Did you recognize it or is there a way you've learned to search to get better results? The Tubes were very hard to read, so you're very likely correct, the 48 is a probably a 43. Once I get the schematic, I'll tackle the little guy, can't wait to hear it working again !
Thanks Again!
