Is the radio running?  Were there, or are there any restoration issues?  Any tips with this radio you could give us?

Many younger people remember Packard Bell computers, but don't have any clue that they made radios.

How does this radio rank with a Philco or Zenith?

Hi Omer,The radio performs well. It was a straight foward repair, all paper and electrolytics were replaced. If and RF alignment were fine! The cabinet was in good shape, no refinishing necessary.Comparing with a Zenith or Philco with the same number of RF/AF stages, it would be hard to tell the difference. The added feature on this set is the dual function eye tube, which i have not seen in a Zenith or Philco. i don't believe i have seen an eye tube on a Philco! Pckard-Bells generally have a stationized dial face, since they were made on the West coast of the US, they have the call letters of West coast BCB stations printed on the dial. i think this feature has made them popular in the US, and i have repaired and sold a few Packard-Bells in the past couple of years.--nicolo

PS--i would like to add schematics for the sets that i post. isee that the format must be .PIF or .GIF. i am somewhat new to working with computers, learning as i go. How do i change my Ryder's which is PDF (on my computer) to these formats? Is there a post that i could be refered to similiar to the post on how to modify the .JPG photos to comply with the R.Museum format? thanks again,--nicolo

Thanks for the info!

To convert Ryders PDF to PNG, download Irfanview, open it, go to the PDF page, take a "snapshot"( the camera) which is essentially "copy", and paste the schematics to a new Irfanview file, and save it to PNG.

After doing this, you can upload the schematics for us to see.
