Switch SK4 which I believe switches the record/replay head from play to record, is badly damaged. Feedback on how to best repair this will be appreciated.

My options are to rebuild the switch, replace with a microswitch or to bypass the switch in permantly replay position.

To rebuild would be more authentic but problem is to find the raw materials. The metal required would, I believe be either phosphor bronze or beryllium copper sheet. The cheapest I can find is about GBP80 for a 25mm x 25mm x 0.5mm piece of metal from Goodfellow or I could obtain a piece of unknown type of metal from the spring strip contact from a 4.5volt lantern battery(not generally sold in Australia).

This picture is a closeup view of the mangled switch removed from its mounting position. The middle leaf of the switch is snapped off and lost. A second contact is badly bent.

Next is over view of switch mounted in position.
