Dear all,

As can be seen from the picture of the backplane this equipment has a (for me) strange power cord connector.

Metal square with 2 flat pins. Year 1961-1964.

Can anybody tell me what this is called and where to find one for my GM5600.

It looks a bit like the older 2 prong UK power cords, but this would of course need the female part.

This connector was very common during the 50s and 60s in particular on german and swiss equipment. Most modern internet references to this connector mention its use on stage and hifi equipment (Roland, Revox, Marantz etc) but in my opinion its main use was on household and office machines (sewing machines, electric typewriters etc) as well as on professional electronic equipment.

Today a similar connector but without earth connection is called C9 (female part) respective C10 (male part) according to the IEC 60320 standard.
