Early sets used 12A8 and 12K7 instead of 12TE8 and 12NK7.  12TE8 is a italian Fivre tube, similar to 12K8; 12NK7 is another italian Fivre tube, substantially a12K7 with improved transconductance.

Dear Enrico
Nice that you tell us this.

Since one "family" is a pentode and the other hexode I ask you kindly to suggest a new model as a variant "hexode" and to rename this model by adding the variant "pentode".

You could also outline this in the notes of the model and to put in the same-type of alternative as "or ..." into the tube lineup. This you do by copying the tube line up in the entry form and paste it in both fields, afterwards adding the two terms "or" and the "tube xyz".

Somebody might find a schematic for the new model later and also put in pictures.
Everybody can then see on both models what the facts are.

Hello,
there's no need for a new variant with 12A8 and 12K7, since these early series are already listed at http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/safar_527.html, also with schematics. Name is slightly different (527) instead of later 527A and 527B, both with newer tube layout.

Thank you, Alessandro, then it might be better to write something into the notes on each of thos 3 models which we don't call variant in the case of different names ;-)
You are quite correct. Can you do it?
