This model was THE first personal radio, the first to use miniature tubes.
Released in April 1940.
Cabinet was molded of Durez Bakelite.
Used 3 standard D cells for the filament supply, and an Eveready 738 45 volt battery for the B voltage.

I'm glad that you joined this amazing site, but are you aware that you now have your own page on this site where you place all the data, pictures, service manuals, and schematics of your radio collection.
The forum is reserved for discusssion, so if you have question for trouble shooting, or just would like to open a discussion on a topic, then go ahead and start a thread!

This thread is just in the right place for the right information. If somebody wants to know something about the radio model "Candid KG-80" of Sonora Radio & Television Corp., USA he/she will find this article which deals only about this model.
Only if somebody in the meantime had to move it to the model it was not correctly posted.
There are mainly two reasons for posting a forum article or question to a model:
1)
To give any details which are too lenghy to post directly to the model using the link "Add information to model" (below in the model page). Be aware it's for a model, not for a specific set. A very interesting post would here be a informative story about repair and/or restauration if possible even inclusive pictures.
2)
Any question about that model which might later be of interest to others in connection with this model. A typical question would be help for reparation.
With the link "Add information to model" you can also upload pictures of your own set which results in your own "Collection within RMorg" or other pictures of the model (e.g. from leaflets etc.). You can bring in collector prices that way or load up schematics.
With the link "Personal index" you create your private collection data.
With "Suggest change" you enhance the model with data like measurements, tubes/valves etc.
Please use those links - perhaps after reading the blue info buttons. This can help you and other collectors a lot.

Maybe this should have been a separate thread, so apologies if that is so.
I tend to document every restoration - usually using Microsoft Word with embedded JPEG graphics. Some of these can be up to 15 A4 pages and maybe 10mb file size, possibly 5mb if zipped.
I would like to share these with everyone, but am not sure if any of these can be used on this site. What is the best approach for me?

This type of information on models is most wanted - in any case if there is solid information about the problem points of a given model - or how to open it without destroing things etc.
But I think only the very necessary text and photos are needed - and these can be integrated in the text (look up the blue info button in the WYSIWYG-editor).
How to proceed?
You go to the model and click
Add information to model
Then you click "Text for Forum" and write your article or copy from the windows editor - not from Word or WordPad. This editor alone does not carry any commands (which do not show in the text but bother very much our WYSIWIG-editor). I hope you find out how to integrate pictures (max 40 KB each I believe). 2 Steps are necessary.
Did you also use the private cards by clicking "Personal Index" for your collected pieces?
