Hi,

I got this radio recently and I haven't found a manual online.  Can someone tell me how to program and recall station presets?  I've been using the large "Execute" button to manually set, e.g. FM 921 <EXECUTE>.  There's also a small recessed ENTER button I haven't figured out.  From specs there should be 10 presets, I suppose 0,1,2...,9.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig.

I have the model 7600D, which is essentially the same radio as the ICF-2003, that I bought in Europe back in 1983. The steps to preset a station frequency are as follows:

1. Tune in to any station by pressing AM or FM followed by the frequency

2. Within five seconds hit the Execute button and the station will start playing

3. While pressing the Enter key (a bit fiddly because it’s so small), press one of the ten counter keys and hold for a few seconds to select the Preset number.

The next time you switch On, all you have to do is select the Preset number you chose in 3 above.

I still have the original user manual for the 7600D, which I can scan and send to you if you’d like it. I must say that after forty years I still use this radio as a night-time radio to listen to via ear buds in bed – hard to believe that this radio has been so reliable and the slider volume control is not in the least bit scratchy after all these years. As an aside, I use the supplied power adapter because these early synthesized radios were kind of battery hogs.

Hope this helps,

Stan

Hi Stan!

Nailed it!  Thanks so much.  I cycle through my radio collection when I sit outside, and the ICF-2003 is getting to be a favorite.  It's the first of my "antiques" with memory, which comes in handy as tuning can be tricky for weaker FM stations.  The FM selectivity on this one is pretty good.

Best wishes,

Craig
