Hello,

My Stromberg Carlson 501A has its metal pot tuning gears which have deteriorated and broken in many pieces.

Can you help in sending me the dimensions to rebuild both of them?

Many thanks

30 years ago these were stock items from Boston Gear or Bearings Specialty Co.  Part number from B.S. was 32160 for the large gears, which I suspect means a d.p. of 32 and 160 teeth.  They were brass and had a bore of 3/8" which you would have to bush to 5/16".  The pinions may be of fibre, not pot metal, so could be re-used.

A brief look at the Boston Gear website shows 32 d.p. spur gears available in delrin or brass.  But if you are trying to match the existing pinion gears you should verify their d.p. (diametral pitch).  Sorry I'm not an Mechanical Engineer, but an E.E.
